Google Search network generally refers to text adverts, but these is also the Google display network for text and image adverts.
For image adverts there are two options for selecting locations to display the advert.
Managed placements: You can select website and Google partner sites based on campaign requirements and the specific ad sizing requirements
Automatic Placements: You can build image adverts of multiple sizes, for display based on specified keywords or article content and these adverts can be either PPC or CPM (cost per 1000 impressions)
A Google service on specific partner sites where you can tag your image adverts to show for customers who have visited your website recently , this can be very effective for customers who are shopping multiple sites, as it gives you a chance to get in front of them again while they are still in the research phase. Display advertising: There are also a vast amount of image advert display options online outside the Google Network, ranging from competitor search engines to individual website properties across the web. The use of this method will be on an individual project basis as the sites you would need to use will be determined by the goals and budget of the project.
